She spent her childhood surfing and enjoying the beaches and perfect climate in San Diego. When she was 15 she became a fashion model. She spent 10 years traveling the world on modeling assignments.

But Candice always felt she was meant for something more special and rewarding, and she wanted it to revolve around two of her favorite things: cooking and bringing others together through the social aspects of food.

Part Japanese and part Polish, Candice learned the essentials of her family’s food traditions from her mom and grandmothers. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Interpersonal Communications at California State University Long Beach.

When Candice decided to pursue food professionally, she decided to attend the prestigious Cordon Bleu program at the California School of Culinary Arts, where she achieved honors as “Top of the Class”, and was on the President’s and Dean’s Lists.

She was chosen as a cast member for the first season of Bravo’s “Top Chef”, and her charm and cooking won her many fans and her talents have now brought her around the world as a television chef and food TV host.

With an extensive background in Japanese/Hawaiian fusion, classic French cuisine and contemporary Californian cuisine, she’s built up a very impressive repertoire & an amazing reputation at a very young age. She is currently a host on Lifetime’s new hit series “Cook Yourself Thin“.

Candice has extensive experience cooking at high profile organizations and events like the The Culinary Vegetable Institute, The Ocean Institute in Orange County and the LA Tofu festival.

She is also Sake and Food Pairing Spokesperson for the Little Tokyo Service Center in Los Angeles and cooks for VIP events at the Ritz Carlton Laguna Beach. She has cooked food demos side by-side with Wolfgang Puck and privately catered for some fabulous celebrities in the Hollywood Hills, the Hamptons and the coast of Malibu.

Her dream is to follow in the footsteps of her idols Julia Child and Martha Stewart and become the food & lifestyle guru of her generation. She brings as much passion and flair to cooking as she does to everything in life – her ideal is to bring together all of the things she loves: fashion, friends and great food.
